About Me

Someone recently asked me “how do you go from being a choir teacher to a creative freelancer?”. The answer is simple: It’s all storytelling.

Beginning my career in music education, I honed my ability to relate to an audience and bring them on a journey. Yes, even a room full of teenagers at 7:30 AM. When I left teaching, I started applying to roles that had requirements I knew I could do: communications, project coordination, event management—all things I had done as a teacher. However, sending a resume that showcased those skills through education language didn’t.

I had to think of my experience teaching in business terms, which made me realize I was essentially running a business by myself as a choir teacher. I had all the transferable skills and experience many of these organizations were looking for. I just wasn’t using the right words to connect with my audience and show results of my work.

So I learned to pivot.

I moved to Los Angeles in 2020  to pursue comedy writing, and I used my ability to write and attract an audience did get me jobs in content marketing for a tech start up and then an enterprise data company.

After 4 years of doing the corporate thing, I realized I wanted to go out on my own…and move to Paris, France. Now, I am building a career around my passions for people, sharing stories, and humor to help people connect to others and accomplish their goals.

In my free time, I can be found exploring Paris, taking in the rich cultural offerings of the city--including many, many pastries. I am a theatre kid at heart and nothing makes me happier than a well-executed tap break, so I try to see as many shows as I can. My bread and butter is writing, and I love to write about my observations of the world around me, both in essays and stand-up sets, which I sometimes perform as well.

My goal is encourage you to share your stories in ways that are authentic and captivating to build a world in which we all feel empowered to share our unique gifts. Thanks for joining me on this journey!
